Our holiday rides draw upwards of 300 riders so you know the probability of something happening is high. Upon summiting a 5 mile climb, riders U turn for the descent. Chaos ensues - one rider crashes, breaking his collar bone. As two CAT 1 Racers proceed with their descent, they cross paths with an disgruntled resident in his vehicle who “allegedly” proceeded to slam on his brakes directly in front of the riders causing a collision with horrible consequences.

Squirrelly Rider During Normal Group Ride
During one of our group rides, a skilled CAT 2 rider started to get squirrelly and then toppled over. What many of us didn’t know is this individual had a Pace Maker and it's batteries failed. Sure, we’ve all seen and spoken with him week after week, but when the Paramedics arrived, no one could provide information beyond his name.
We all know or heard of people who were injured while participating in their outdoor activity. Some of these injuries happened to children and as you can expect, the statistics are staggering ( Google : boy hit by car on his bicycle ).
